  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F and line a baking dish with parchment paper. Lay saltine crackers in an even layer at the bottom.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and brown sugar until boiling; let boil gently for about 4-5 minutes.
  3. Pour caramel over crackers and bake for about 4-5 minutes until bubbly.
  4. Remove from oven, sprinkle with chocolate chips, let sit to melt, then spread evenly.
  5. In another saucepan, melt cubed butter over medium heat until golden brown; let cool slightly.
  6. Whisk together flour and baking soda in a bowl; mix brown butter with sugars, then add eggs and vanilla.
