  • 1 3/4 cups apple juice
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste (or vanilla extract)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Core and chop the apples into large chunks.
  2. In a large pot, combine the chopped apples, apple juice, and apple cider vinegar. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 30 minutes until the apples are soft.
  3. Stir in brown sugar, vanilla bean paste, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt; mix well.
  4. Blend the mixture until smooth using an immersion blender or standard blender.
  5. Return the blended mixture to the pot and cook uncovered over medium heat for another 30-45 minutes until thickened.
